The Big Workshop

A proposal in collaboration with the national center for dance in Caen, Normandy. The festival occupies for the first time the national dance center of Caen in Normandy. The creation of a set design in real time by the collective Manœuvre, workshops with Tristan Ménez and Ola Maciejewska, film screening, performances in affiliation with the regional contemporary art fund (Frac Normandie Caen) and the collective PAN will mark the final event to close the festival.

Scenography > Collective Manœuvre

Manœuvre is a team of artists all alumni of the Fine arts academy, l’école supérieure d’arts and médias of Caen/Cherbourg and collaborators of the festival for many years. The collective offers an evolving stage which will built over the course of the first four days of the festival’s opening. The aim is to create neutral and simple area dedicated to the performances as well as to create a collective action by the group gathering many students. It will be a common ground equally for the artist and for the audience. A construction of several units, the set up will be evolving throughout the setup and will exist and continue to adapt throughout future projects and collaborations.
