Paul Duncombe a participé à Under The Pole, une expédition scientifique internationale dans le Pacifique Sud, au cours de laquelle il a collecté des données et réalisé des photographies et des vidéos en utilisant la photogrammétrie, le microscope électronique, le scan 3D et des caméras binoculaires.
À partir de ce matériau explorant le patrimoine naturel menacé de nos récifs coralliens, Alex Smoke compose une partition et se croisent la musique, les arts numériques et la biologie dans une exploration poétique et une revendication écologique.
La première représentation aura lieu à l’église Saint-Julien de Caen avant de voyager à Glasgow en septembre. L’œuvre pourra être montrée sous la forme d’une performance, d’une installation ou d’un film. Cette création est le fruit d’une collaboration régulière entre le festival ]interstice[ et la biennale SONICA à Glasgow.
Avec le soutien du British Council et de Under The Pole, Paul Duncombe et Alex Smoke ont mis en œuvre une proposition riche et dense, ouvrant différentes perspectives artistiques.

Paul Duncombe participated in Under The Pole, an international scientific expedition in the South Pacific, during which he collected data and produced photographs and videos using
photogrammetry, electron microscopy, 3D scanning, and binocular cameras.
From this material exploring the threatened natural heritage of our coral reefs, Alex Smoke composes a score, intertwining music, digital arts, and biology in a poetic exploration and an ecological claim.
The premiere will take place at the Saint-Julien church in Caen before traveling to Glasgow in September. The work can be presented as a performance, an installation, or a film. This creation results from a regular collaboration between the ]interstice[ festival and the SONICA biennale in Glasgow.
Supported by the British Council and Under The Pole, Paul Duncombe and Alex Smoke have
implemented a rich and dense proposal, opening different artistic perspectives.
