La crise environnementale et la destruction des habitats nous obligent à imaginer un avenir dans lequel la nature peut être mémorisée sous forme numérique.
Les musées d’histoire naturelle visent à préserver physiquement la nature en la fixant dans le temps et l’espace. Comment l’archivage de la nature pourrait-il évoluer dans un contexte numérique ? La numérisation pourrait-elle nous rapprocher encore plus de la nature ? Habitat est une projection basée sur des données ou des scans 3D de spécimens organiques provenant du centre de biodiversité Naturalis de Leiden qui sont transformés en un environnement méditatif semblable à un jeu. L’œuvre présente une série de mondes numériques en constante évolution, chacun accompagné de son propre paysage sonore.

Diplômée de l’Académie Gerrit Rietveld, elle évolue dans les domaines des nouveaux médias, du cinéma, de la scénographie et de la sculpture. Elle a notamment exposé à Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Berlin, San Francisco, Anvers, Paris, Istanbul et Riyad. En 2023 elle a travaillé avec le ballet de Boston et la chorégraphe Nanine Linning.

The environmental crisis and the destruction of habitats urge us to imagine a future where nature can be remembered through a digital format.
Natural history museums aim to preserve nature physically by encapsulating it within both time and space. How could nature’s archiving evolve within a digital framework? Could digitization potentially bring us even closer to nature? « Habitat » is a data-driven projection or 3D scans of organic specimens (l’un ou l’autre?) from the Naturalis Biodiversity Center in Leiden, transformed into a meditative environment that looks like a game. The work features a series of perpetually evolving digital worlds, each accompanied by its unique soundscape.

A graduate of the Gerrit Rietveld Academy, she works in the fields of new media, film, scenography and sculpture. She has exhibited in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Berlin, San Francisco, Antwerp, Paris, Istanbul and Riyad. In 2023, she worked with the Boston Ballet and choreographer Nanine Linning.
