L’expérience invite à plonger dans un paysage sonore en perpétuelle construction.
Une architecture invisible, constituée de zones d’écoute, se superpose à la topologie de la ville. Les sons se déclenchent et se modulent au rythme du déplacement : le promeneur, muni d’un smartphone et d’un casque, compose ainsi son propre mix sonore.
Le projet s’appuie sur des enregistrements réalisés à Caen. De courtes pièces (prises de sons, entretiens, lectures, créations musicales) sont réinjectées dans l’espace urbain et deviennent des traces à réactiver, fragments de mémoire où passé et présent, réalité et fiction se rencontrent.
À l’occasion du Millénaire de la ville, Station Mir et le festival ]interstice[ ont invité l’artiste à réactiver cette création de 2014 et à en proposer une version augmentée. Celle-ci intègre notamment de nouvelles pièces sonores produites lors d’un atelier avec Nicolas Germain et les étudiants de l’ésam Caen/Cherbourg. Géosonic Mix – Millénaire de Caen interroge notre rapport au territoire et invente une nouvelle manière d’écrire l’espace. Au fil de la dérive, des « fantômes audio » se croisent, se superposent ou se heurtent à l’environnement sonore, troublant nos repères ou éveillant nos sens. Entre les sons contenus dans la machine et ceux du réel, surgissent d’infinis possibles à explorer.

Géosonic Mix – Millénaire de Caen is a geolocated sound walk that offers a sensitive portrait of the city. Interactive and urban in scale, this composition—a true “geo-music”—is discovered while walking: an augmented poetic reading that allows us to hear other worlds, invisible, speculative, utopian.
The experience invites you to immerse yourself in a soundscape that is constantly under construction. An invisible architecture, made up of listening zones, is superimposed on the topology of the city. Sounds are triggered and modulated to the rhythm of movement: walkers, equipped with a smartphone and headphones, can thus compose their own sound mix. The project is based on recordings made in Caen. Short pieces (sound recordings, interviews, readings, musical creations) are reintroduced into the urban space and become traces to be reactivated, fragments of memory where past and present, reality and fiction meet.
To mark the city’s millennium, Station Mir and the ]interstice[ festival invited the artist to reactivate this 2014 creation and offer an enhanced version. This includes new sound pieces produced during a workshop with Nicolas Germain and students from ésam Caen/Cherbourg.
Géosonic Mix questions our relationship with the territory and invents a new way of writing space. As we drift along, “audio ghosts” intersect, overlap, or collide with the sound environment, disturbing our bearings or awakening our senses. Between the sounds contained in the machine and those of reality, infinite possibilities arise to be explored.
