À partir de collectes de sons effectuées dans des jardins en Normandie grâce à l’utilisation d’hydrophones – micros conçus pour enregistrer les sons aquatiques – l’installation compose un paysage acoustique inédit du lieu, à la fois organique, mouvant et profondément sensoriel.
Elle prend la forme d’un ensemble de sculptures-aquariums contenant des nénuphars en acier inoxydable, inspirée de la végétation aquatique de plans d’eau. Des sources sonores diffusent dans l’espace une atmosphère immersive. Ce jardin miniature questionne notre rapport à l’eau et la fragilité du vivant.
Clément Davout et Léo Fourdrinier développent en duo un corpus d’œuvres mêlant sculpture, installation, vidéo et création sonore, qui interroge les dérèglements écologiques contemporains et les dynamiques d’anthropisation des milieux naturels. À travers des dispositifs inspirés du jardin, du diorama et de l’aquariophilie, ils créent des environnements sensibles où se rejouent les tensions entre le vivant et l’empreinte humaine. Leurs œuvres, pensées en lien avec le territoire qui les accueille, interrogent la fragilité des écosystèmes, la disparition progressive de certains mondes naturels, et les effets de l’artificialisation croissante de notre environnement. Le duo développe ainsi une approche critique et poétique de la nature, en cherchant à représenter ce qui persiste, se dégrade ou se réinvente face aux bouleversements écologiques. Ils vivent et travaillent entre Paris et Toulon. Ils sont diplômés de l’ésam Caen/Cherbourg en 2017. Leur travail en duo a récemment été exposé en France, au Luxembourg, en Allemagne et en Belgique.
Clément Davout est cofondateur du collectif Fulgurasso (Saint-Ouen-Sur Seine, FR) et Léo Fourdrinier est artiste associé au sein du tiers-lieu culturel Le Port Des Créateurs (Toulon, FR). Using sound recordings collected in gardens across Normandy with hydrophones—microphones designed to capture underwater sounds—the installation creates a unique acoustic landscape of the site, one that is organic, ever-changing, and deeply sensory.
It takes the form of a series of aquarium-like sculptures containing stainless steel water lilies, inspired by the aquatic vegetation found in bodies of water. Sound sources diffuse an immersive atmosphere throughout the space. This miniature garden explores our relationship with water and the fragility of life.
Clément Davout and Léo Fourdrinier work as a duo to develop a body of work blending sculpture, installation, video, and sound art, which examines contemporary ecological disruptions and the dynamics of human impact on natural environments. Through installations inspired by gardens, dioramas, and aquariums, they create sensitive environments where the tensions between living organisms and the human footprint are reenacted. Their works, conceived in relation to the specific sites that host them, explore the fragility of ecosystems, the gradual disappearance of certain natural worlds, and the effects of the increasing artificialization of our environment. The duo thus develops a critical and poetic approach to nature, seeking to represent what persists, deteriorates, or reinvents itself in the face of ecological upheavals. They live and work between Paris and Toulon. They graduated from ÉSAM Caen/Cherbourg in 2017. Their collaborative work has recently been exhibited in France, Luxembourg, Germany, and Belgium.
