Polivision est une installation qui explore la lumière, ses comportements, ses variations et ses relations avec la matière.
Des réflecteurs motorisés génèrent des formes caustiques au sein d’un paysage vidéo en transformation. Associées à un environnement sonore et à des données astronomiques en temps réel, ces interactions orchestrent un paysage évolutif composé d’images mouvantes et de formes fugitives. La trajectoire du soleil et de la lune influence les mouvements, le son et les rythmes de l’installation, parfois synchronisée, parfois déphasée, en rotation. Une caméra thermique capte la présence des visiteurs : les corps chauds activent le dispositif, révélant la dimension infrarouge du spectre lumineux. Issu d’une recherche autour des fours solaires (Odeillo, Mont-Louis, Thémis), le projet s’inspire des principes de captation et de concentration de la lumière propres à ces architectures, ici réinterprétés au sein d’un récit à échelle réduite dans une forme composite où s’entrelacent phénomènes thermodynamiques et interactions physiques.
Artiste plasticienne diplômée de l’ésam Caen/Cherbourg, Lorène Plé développe une pratique interdisciplinaire à la croisée des arts visuels, sonores et des sciences. Son travail s’appuie sur l’expérimentation et l’observation de phénomènes perceptifs —lumière, matière, espace — qu’elle transforme en dispositifs visuels. À travers une approche empirique mêlant outils numériques, fabrication artisanale et pratiques graphiques, elle conçoit des formes hybrides où se rencontrent image, objet et optique. Inspirée par des champs de recherche comme l’archéologie, la géographie ou l’informatique, elle s’intéresse aux manières dont les paysages, les systèmes techniques et les phénomènes naturels peuvent devenir matière narrative, spéculative et réflexive.

Lorène Plé a bénéficié d’une bourse d’accompagnement dans le cadre du programme Ambivalences porté par les pôles régionaux de création artistique en environnement numérique de Bretagne (Electroni[k]), Normandie (Station Mir et Oblique/s) et Pays de la Loire (Stereolux), soutenus par le Ministère de la Culture (DRAC Bretagne, DRAC Normandie et DRAC Pays de la Loire).
Polivision is an installation that explores light, its behaviour, its variations and its relationship with matter. Motorised reflectors generate caustic patterns within a transforming video landscape. Combined with a soundscape and real-time astronomical data, these interactions orchestrate an evolving landscape composed of shifting images and fleeting forms. The trajectory of the sun and moon influences the movements, sound and rhythms of the installation, sometimes synchronised, sometimes out of phase, and in rotation. A thermal camera detects the presence of visitors: warm bodies activate the system, revealing the infrared dimension of the light spectrum. Stemming from research into solar furnaces (Odeillo, Mont-Louis, Thémis), the project draws inspiration from the principles of light capture and concentration specific to these structures, here reinterpreted within a scaled-down narrative in a composite form where thermodynamic phenomena and physical interactions intertwine.
A visual artist and graduate of ésam Caen/Cherbourg, Lorène Plé develops an interdisciplinary practice at the crossroads of visual arts, sound art and science. Her work is based on experimentation and the observation of perceptual phenomena—light, matter, space—which she transforms into visual installations. Through an empirical approach combining digital tools, handcrafted techniques and graphic practices, she conceives hybrid forms where image, object and optics converge. Inspired by fields of research such as archaeology, geography and computer science, she is interested in the ways in which landscapes, technical systems and natural phenomena can become narrative, speculative and reflective material.
